Whistler
Market insights for October show that Squamish has bounced right back, for the first time since March last year, into a seller's market for ALL THREE property types. The market for townhomes and condos is also seeing a similar upward trend in activity for homeowners in Whistler, with the market for detached properties still favouring buyers as they have done for the most part of 2019. The average number of days a single-family home is taking to sell jumped up to 141 days in October, that's nearly six months!
Any home will sell in a buyers' market if it's priced low enough, but this doesn't offer much comfort to homeowners selling or considering listing their property. In a buyers' market, sellers need to be realistic about the price they set and assess the market by comparing their property to the most recently sold homes in their neighbourhood and base a list price on active comparable sales too.
If you're thinking about selling or buying, I'd be happy to discuss your options. Wouldn't mind a builders opinion too? Schedule a tour with me and learn about the lifestyle in the Sea to Sky and our real estate market while previewing the different neighbourhoods and accessing some local wisdom.
